School to School Support
Great Sankey Teaching School Alliance has experience in providing school to school support in a wide range of contexts, receiving referrals from Schools, Local Authorities and Dioceses to support improvement.
Our NLE, LLEs and SLEs can provide bespoke coaching and mentoring packages for leaders at all levels
SLEs can support reviews based on data from the whole school, a particular year group, cohort of learners or department
Our trained facilitators will work with schools and partners to develop bespoke CPD packages for teachers and support staff
If you are interested in working with us to create a package of support to maximise attainment and achievement and develop staff within your school, please contact us.
“I would like to thank Graham and your English department for their support in terms of improving English outcomes this year - a real measure of impact!
Both English departments have forged very positive relationships.” LA Adviser
SLEs (Specialist Leaders of Education)
Specialist leaders of education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it in their own context.
Great Sankey Teaching School Alliance has a team of SLEs with a wide variety of specialisms who work in schools across the region. Whilst SLEs will be outstanding at what they do, they can come from any school, regardless of the school’s Ofsted grade.
If you are interested in using SLE expertise in your school, please contact us so that we can give you further details about our SLEs and their availability.
Each deployment will be tailor-made to meet the needs of the supported school. Deployments may involve coaching, mentoring or facilitation skills – there is no set method, but support will always focus on sustainable leadership development and school improvement.
"The English team wanted to pass on their thanks for the support from Sarah, they found it incredibly helpful. “She’s no nonsense and knows her stuff!” Their words not mine! I also found the feedback given really helpful too."
Deputy Headteacher – Liverpool
"Being an SLE has given me the opportunity to experience life in other school settings. It is always nice to work with teachers who are keen to share ideas and are looking for ways to further support and enhance their provision."
Katrina Beswick – SLE
"Your suggestions and advice have really got us buzzing about where we go from here in regard to pupil premium."
Sarah, Carlisle following SLE deployment
